Venue & Hotel
Nordic PGDay 2024 was held at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia in Oslo, Norway.
Visitors from out of town can of course stay at the conference hotel to minimize the morning commute. There are also numerous other alternatives within easy walking distance.
Travel information
Public transit
Public transit works well in Oslo. For up to date information about the options, check the website ruter.no.
Tickets for temporary visitors are easiest to get either through the app. You can also get a travel card or tickets at a kiosk for example Narvasen and 7-Eleven - for details, see the Ruter website.
Note that you can not purchase tickets on board the tram or metro!
Arriving by train
After arriving at Oslo S, the hotel is about 20 minutes walk away. Walk straight up Karl Johans street until you get to the palace gardens, where you turn right and you will spot the hotel building almost right away. The entrance to the hotel is on the left hand side of the building when arriving from this direction.
You can also take tram number 17, 18 (towards Rikshospotalet) or 19 (towards Majorstuen) right outside the central station to Holbergs Plass which is right at the hotel. The entrance to the hotel is on the right hand side of the building when arriving from this direction. The travel is fully within Zone 1, so you only need a single zone ticket.
Arriving by air
After arriving at Oslo Airport, the easiest way to get to the hotel is to take the Flytoget train to Nationaltheatret and walk just under 10 minutes to the hotel. Note that not all Flytoget departures stop at Nationaltheatret, so double check! To minimize walking another option is to take the Flytoget to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) and then the tram (see instructions for arriving by train).
Flytoget tickets can be purchased in machines at the entrance to the train (follow signs after existing customs), or by swiping your credit card in the turnstiles. A one-way ticket is NOK 240 (approximately EUR 21).
A slightly cheaper option is to take the Vy train from the airport instead of the Flytoget to Oslo Central Station, and then take tram or walk from there.
If you prefer to travel by taxi this is of course also an option, and available right at the airport. See the airport website for more information. But do note that taxi in Oslo can be very expensive - expect around EUR 80-100 during daytime with higher prices in evenings and mornings.
